Les Laiken
Les Laiken founded Laiken Associates, Inc. more than 40 years ago as a full service consulting, administration and actuarial firm. Over these many years, Les earned an outstanding reputation by providing cutting edge design and compliance services to all types and sizes of qualified retirement plans.

In 1985, the company was merged into a national accounting firm where Les held the position of National Director of Employee Benefits. After five successful years, Les withdrew his New York practice and resumed operating Laiken Associates with his partner, Cathy Waxenberg.

Les received an undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance from New York University and his Master's degree, majoring in Actuarial Science, from the University of Wisconsin.


Cathy G. Waxenberg
Cathy Waxenberg is President and co-owner of Laiken Associates, Inc. She has been practicing in the field of employee benefits for over 30 years. Prior to joining the company, she was a Principal at a national accounting firm, serving as Director of its Retirement and Employee Benefits Compliance Division. Among her many projects, Cathy served as the actuarial consultant and a member of the audit team for a $1 billion class action settlement involving the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and several thousand pension plans.

Cathy is an active member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and is currently the President of the ASPPA Benefits Council of New York. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Brooklyn College and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and has attained the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary.
